We were so excited to find out we were having another little girl; then the sickness came one! It was so much worse then it was with Devyn. I had to be go to the hospital at 16 weeks because I had busted a blood vessel in my throat! I didn't even know that was possible! They put me on some medicine which was a life saver! Thank goodness my mom came out to stay with me for awhile and helped out. Things got a little easier from there with the sickness as long as I took it three times a day! My doctors were worried about how I was not growing very much but just figured it was because I was throwing up so much. By my 30th week one of my doctors decided that we need a better ultrasound done because I was measuring two weeks behind and he didn't like that I was still loosing weight. So we made an appointment to see the radiologist on Monday. Well that Saturday I hadn't felt Baylee move at all. I wasn't sure if I should go to the doctor. I HATE going to the hospital unless it absolutely have too. Cory called his sister Tash to talk me into going. She started moving when we got to the hospital but we figured we should go in and see what was going on. My doctor was on call so he was already there. He decided to just go on with the ultra sound since we were already there. The ultra sound took 3 hrs. CRAZY RIGHT! Cory kept trying to joke with the ultra sound tech but she wasn't having it. She kept getting this weird look on her face. We figured something was wrong. Finally she had our doctor come in and talk to us. Baylee had a growth restriction and wasn't growing like she was suppose too. Her umbilical cord only had two blood vessels instead of two. Besides that her heart looked enlarged and her organs looked like they weren't develop enough. So we were going to be sent to U of U since our hospital isn't equipped to handle babies with heart problems.
I can't even explain how scary this was for us at first I didn't really get what was going on. I think Cory and I were both in shock for a little while. They told me I had to be on bed rest for the rest of the time so I didn't go into labor; which I was having contractions for about 4 weeks already. Oh yeah in the middle of all this madness we were trying to close on our house!
We went to the specialized at U of U first of January. Their machines there were AMAZING! We could see so much detail that we couldn't see in Elko. Our doctor told us everything looked fine that her heart wasn't enlarged and her organs were developed enough. She was just going to be super small. Which at the time she was measuring at 4 lbs. 5 ounces. We were so relived to hear that. He said that there could be still some problems since she was so small but that we wouldn't know that until she came out and I wasn't suppose to go over 39 weeks. Everything was a little crazy for the next 5 weeks. I had to go to the hospital twice a week to get test done to make sure she was still getting enough blood and oxygen. Baylee was ready to come she was sitting in my birth canal for 2 weeks.
When we went in to have her on Jan 21st at 5:30 in the morning. They started me on Pitocin and I was at a 2 (which I had been for 2 weeks). I stayed that way until 4:30 pm; by this time I was done. I couldn't handle it anymore. I told Cory to go and tell them to either unhook me and let me go home or take me into a c section cause I was done. I got up to use the bathroom and sat down. She moved so fast and did something (WORSE PAIN EVER) that made my water break. I was at a three and 2 minutes later I was at a 6. I was in a lot of pain. I was defiantly ready for my epidural but the doctor took forever so they gave me a drug to help me relax tell he got there. I can't remember much about what happen after that but Cory has a video of me talking away. He thinks it hilarious. Finally, I got my epidural. I ask the nurse if I could just take a small nap so I could be able to focus when it was time to push; 10 minutes later it was time to push. I pushed once and we had a baby girl and health as can be but super small. She had a pare of lungs on her. She weight 4.12 and was 18 inches long. I can't even explain how happy we were to have here health and no problems.
We honestly have the best family ever. I don't know what we would of done during this hard time with out them. They helped us out so much.
I'm not one who talks about my faith a lot. I struggled with it when I was younger for a very long time. I will have to say this experience has made my testimony grow so much. I know for a fact I wouldn't of been able to handle this with out my father in heaven. He gave me the strength I needed during this hard time for us. Cory was so amazing during all this also. I can't explain the love I have for him. He is such a great father. I'm so thankful that Baylee was able to be born health and strong with no high risk problems. She is such a blessing to us. She is such amazing little baby. She honestly stills everyone heart that meets her. Devyn just loves her so much and already her big protector. We are so blessed with the family we have.
Love,
